About Bertie's Marvellous
Bertie Hayward and Nick McCulloch met In 2022, working together first on their sister brand Provenance Grocer, before starting their mission to create a range of small batch, lovingly made... truly marvellous condiments. Finally launching their first three sauces in 2024 - our Pineapple & Basil, Black Garlic and Classic Chilli Sauces in 2024.

We lovingly refer to Bertie as the Guv'nor, the boss, the man behind the sauce, the Real Bertie , and he's famed at Berties Marvellous HQ for stopping us mid-sentence with his 'Wait, what?' questioning and for his fanatical sampling of our sauces. You'll find Bertie with us at our foodie market locations in London as well as at food fairs and events across the UK when we're out and about.
Ask him about the worst thing about working with Nick, and he says hands down it's being called 'Saucy Bertie' by Nick to customers when he and Nick are working together at events.
Nick McCulloch
Co-Founder & Head of Getting Things Done
Nick is the founder of Provenance Hub, a website working with, and selling a curated selection of foods from independent producers. This inspired his and Bertie's Provenance Grocer business, selling these products at foodie markets across London, and more recently to us here at Bertie's Marvellous. His happy vibe and planning make sure things run smoothly, things get done and he keeps us focussed on producing our exceptional sauces.
Questioned on working with Bertie, he'll say it's (mostly!) fun - although he'll admit he does find people asking if Bertie is either his son or instead believing he's his lover slightly triggering!
